Whether you are a construction company that was not paid for work completed or a company seeking payment for products or services provided, our lawyers have the knowledge, skill and experience to effectively protect your interests.

If your company needs help obtaining or enforcing a construction lien (also called a mechanic's lien) contact an attorney at our firm.

The Enforcement Process

Construction liens or mechanic's liens are recorded by contractors, subcontractors or construction companies unable to secure payment for work performed. The enforcement of a construction lien is handled through court proceedings. In general, the court will thoroughly review the situation, and if it finds that the lien has not been paid, it can rule that the property subject to the lien be sold and the proceeds distributed.

Our attorneys have extensive experience with construction disputes and mechanic's liens. We will present your case to the court, assert your interests, and ultimately strive to collect on the lien. With our clear understanding of the laws, legal procedures, and potential roadblocks, you can be confident in our ability to effectively handle your case.

At Akay Sull LLP, we handle collection cases involving:

  • Failure to pay construction contractors and subcontractor companies
  • Failure to pay companies and suppliers for goods and services provided
  • Failure to pay contractors for commercial tenant improvement and residential/home-remodeling projects
  • All other situations involving unpaid goods or services
